Situated on the garden wall of Blairquhan Gardens, originally built circa 1800 as a potting shed and with bothy accommodation added in 1859, Cuninghame Cottage was created in 1995 by knocking the two properties together to form this most unusual and attractive holiday home. Blairquhan is a castle surrounded by a country estate situated in the beautiful wooded valley of the Water of Girvan in South West Scotland. Extending to over 2,000 acres of green and fertile land, through which the River Girvan flows, the estate offers a warm welcome to all its visitors and is a wonderful setting for family holidays.

There are no rules about where you can go on the estate. You can walk and picnic where you wish. There is a fascinating tree trail to follow, a sheltered walled garden with glass house to stroll round, ducks on the garden pond to admire, fishing by arrangement on the River Girvan and estate lochs. The local village of Straiton, just one mile away, is considered by some to be the prettiest village in Ayrshire and has a village shop and an hotel serving meals, popular with visitors and locals alike.
